Development Coordinator – Tisch MS Research Center of New York


Job Summary:

The Development Coordinator will play a key role in a two-person development team to coordinate and implement fundraising efforts related to Tisch Multiple Sclerosis Research Center of New York’s special events, donor campaigns, institutional giving, corporate engagement and communications. S/he will work closely with the Director of Development to meet overall department goals to engage more donors, meet financial targets, and maintain ongoing communications with our stakeholders.


  • Work closely with the Director of Development with all initiatives including special events, major gifts, foundation and corporate solicitations, marketing and expansion of donor community. 
  • Assist with all outreach campaigns to ensure financial goals are met. Tasks can include writing copy, designing materials, working with mailing lists, etc. Assist with implementing existing campaigns as well as creating and launching new efforts. •
  • Update constituent database on regular basis ensuring all information is correct and up-to-date.
  • Create and administer donor acknowledgement documentation as well as tribute cards as needed.
  • Help in facilitating Board meetings from scheduling, preparing materials, and writing the minutes
  • Assist in relationship building with donors and Board members.
  • Support fundraising events; coordinate event logistics including venue research, manage ticket purchases and guest lists; take a lead role in day of activities.
  • Work closely with Marketing to create and implement communication plans for events and the organizations mission, such as; content for online communications, social media, newsletters, website updates, etc. Ensure all communications are in line with organizational brand and goals; ensure materials are up to date and relevant.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of relevant Development experience.
  • 2+ years of nonprofit or communications work experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a wide range of people.
  • Attention to detail is required.
  • Background in social media online platforms, CRM database software and all MS office products.
  • Must be able to work independently and be self-directed, while also being able to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to problem solve, multi-task, and manage deadlines.
