Grand Rounds

Friday, January 15, 2021

Recently, we welcomed Dr. Sheng-Han Kuo, MD from Columbia University as our Grand Rounds lecturer. Dr. Kuo is a Director for the Initiative for Columbia Ataxia and Tremor, as well as a practicing physician and an Assistant Professor of Neurology studying movement disorders. His talk focused on autoimmune inflammation of the central nervous system and immune-mediated cerebellar ataxia, which is present in some patients with MS. Cerebellar ataxia originates in the cerebellum and causes imbalance and coordination issues. After his talk, Dr. Kuo led a discussion with the physicians and principal scientists at Tisch focusing on cerebellar ataxia in MS patients. We look forward to future collaborations with Dr. Kuo to better understand how his research and initiatives can have a positive impact on our research and practices at Tisch and IMSMP.
