The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 updates and extends several provisions from the CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act. The Act continues to allow for cash contributions to qualified charities such as ours to be deducted up to 100% of your adjusted gross income for the 2021 calendar year, for those who itemize their deductions. The Act also extends charitable deductions of up to $300 for all taxpayers, even if you do not itemize. You might think that this is a small amount and would not make a difference. But what if all of our donors had the ability to give $300? Such support would have a huge impact on those we love and care for with multiple sclerosis.
